Cullowhee Turns Over a New Leaf
The future of the Cullowhee Native Plant Conference will be taking place outside of the beautiful town of Cullowhee, NC. Our plan is to take the conference to new locations in the upcoming years under our new name, The Southeastern Native Plant Conference. How exactly we do so will be informed by our past, present, and future Cullowhee community.
Starting over will be challenging and we will be in need of assistance to keep the magic alive. If you would like to get involved in helping to steer the ship by joining the crew of the Southeastern Native Plant Conference, or if you have a talk or a walk that you’d like to give at a future gathering, please click the Join the Team button below.
Western Carolina University has fulfilled many of the administrative and logistical requirements of the conference planning process in the past. Moving forward, the Southeastern Native Plant Conference may or may not have that type of support available when it finds its new home. The transition team is very small at this time, and it is quite possible that the team will need to divide and conquer into newly formed sub-committees to handle a myriad of tasks from volunteer legal and accounting services, to deciding how to best allocate an entertainment budget. If you are interested and available to potentially serve in some capacity to help plan the future of the Southeastern Native Plant Conference, please fill out this questionnaire, and you will be contacted if we need your assistance. We appreciate the consideration in helping to plan the future!
We will also need an unprecedented amount of financial support to launch the first Southeastern Native Plant Conference! If you can, please support our efforts by using the Donate button below.
Do not be surprised when you find it sends you to the website of our fiscal sponsors The Georgia Native Plant Society. Their cooperation makes it possible for us to accept yours!
